About the project
In many companies, contracts are scattered across inboxes, folders, and filing cabinets. The problem often only becomes apparent when a cancellation deadline has already passed or no one can find the contract they need. That's the problem Agreem solves. Agreem is a cloud-based, AI-powered contract management platform. Behind the company are Jonas Krantz and Carl-Fredrik Ljung, who also run the procurement consultancy The Purchase Group.
How it works
Agreem brings contracts, documents, and assets together in one place. Users get automatic reminders ahead of important dates, clear ownership and responsibilities, and AI-powered support for reviewing, analyzing, and assessing contract risks. Its users are often CEOs, CFOs, and facility managers who want to stay in control without unnecessary complexity.
The challenge
Agreem promises "Smarter contracts. Simpler everyday work." The product already delivered on that promise, but its interface hadn't kept up. A platform marketed as modern, intuitive, and AI-powered needs to look and feel that way too. At the same time, Agreem was already a live product with paying customers and a codebase under continuous development. The challenge was to give the product a significant visual upgrade without rebuilding it, and in just four weeks, on a limited budget.
A designer who also writes the code
We solved this by bringing in a fullstack designer. My Appelgren developed the new visual identity and implemented it herself in Agreem's existing codebase. With no handover between design and development, the process was fast and nothing got lost along the way.
1
Identity: Using the client's moodboard as a starting point, My created an updated visual identity, covering colors, typography, iconography, and the visual style of charts and tables.
2
Application: The new identity was tested in Figma on two key views: the dashboard and a table view. This allowed the client to see the bigger picture and approve the direction before development began.
3
Development: Once the design was approved, My implemented the changes directly in the product's stylesheets, ensuring the new identity worked consistently throughout the interface.
Calm, clear, and in control
The new visual identity is built around a deep green color palette, giving the product a stable, trustworthy foundation. Brighter shades of green highlight what matters most. Key metrics are presented in spacious cards with large numbers, making it easy for users to understand the situation at a glance. The charts follow the same green visual language, making the data feel like an integral part of the product rather than an afterthought.
The role of colour
Contracts approaching their cancellation deadlines are clearly highlighted in the list. When opening a contract, users see a warning along with a clear way to take action. This is how Agreem delivers on its promise to help users avoid missing important deadlines.

Working closely with the client's team
The project was carried out in close collaboration with Agreem's founders, Jonas Krantz and Carl-Fredrik Ljung, and their developer, Johan Trumstedt. The ongoing dialogue with Johan ensured that the changes aligned with the team's existing ways of working. With the new foundation in place, the team can now continue developing the product independently.
The result
After just four weeks, Agreem had a more modern and cohesive interface that reflects the product's promise: control and clarity without unnecessary complexity. The new visual identity is now implemented throughout the platform, providing a solid foundation for Agreem's continued development.
The collaboration was smooth and professional from start to finish. Variant and My understood what we wanted to achieve and turned our ideas into an interface that feels exactly right for Agreem. The result was just what we had envisioned, and we're very happy with it.
